Yin Yoga, is a style of yoga in which postures are held for 3 to 5 minutes, the studio is room temperature. All Yin postures are done either lying down, or sitting on the mat.
This allows the muscles to relax while ligaments, or connective tissue, can be stretched. This practice is combined with some Yang postures, to provide stretch and strengthen muscles, tendons and in some cases organs and bones. Both Hot Hatha and Power are more Yang type yoga.
